The newest winery in the Northern Neck of Virginia is built and the final touches have been put on it as you are reading this. Hammond Builders Inc. out of Tappahannock, Virginia has given us a wonderful design and a wonderful building that we will be proud of for years to come! All of our contractors have been extra super and we cannot thank them or recommend them enough!

Part of our envisioned business model is to adhere to the Virginia Green Business Standards and be certified a Virginia Green Winery. With this in mind we asked for a design that would include LED lighting, and efficient means of heating and cooling. So the actual production area of the Winery will be underground so temperatures will remain fairly constant. The barrels will be stored below ground as well. See the Standards for a Virginia Green Winery here. We envision putting in place a recycling program as well.

The Production Room, Barrel Room, Crush Pad, and Case Room along with the Lab is on the lower. The upstairs includes a Tasting Room, Rest Rooms, and an Event Room that will accommodate about a hundred guests. There is a deck on the backside facing the water. It also has a warming kitchen which will be great for caterers and for heating prepared food by licensed food handlers who come in from off site. We will be able to offer from in-house cheese trays, and some sandwiches.
